Kilkenny Mapping Event

Date(s) - 30/11/2019

Categories No Categories

For the last mapping event of the year, we will be visiting Kilkenny city where there will be a wide variety of places to both map and improve and just straight up sight-see. The morning session will be an introduction to Openstretmap Ireland and open-source mapping which will facilitate all levels of either mapping or computer knowledge as there is a low barrier to entry.

Then in the afternoon, weather depending groups can either go out to get numbers/names for houses, add businesses, refine road types, etc. Or use local knowledge to add in gaps from the warmth of the space. Finally, we will recap for the last hour or so on what we have done and using the map in everyday life and getting into the habit of updating it as you go.

    To whom it may concern,
I am trying to find the Townlands for Ross, New Ross and the section of New Ross that is in County Kilkenny.
My interest is in the late 1700’s early 1800’s

    Thank you
